What is Venue Selection? What are Venue Tags?
Venue Selection allows guests to choose a venue on the booking site so the hotels they see are displayed based on proximity to the selected venue. Venue Tags allow you to create guest-friendly nicknames for your venues.
Venue Selection is a feature that gives your guests more control and flexibility when booking. Instead of seeing all available hotels in proximity to the primary venue, guests can filter hotel results by choosing a specific venue, such as a sports complex, convention center, or performance hall. Once a venue is selected, the hotel list updates to prioritize hotels closest to that location. This makes it easier for guests to find convenient lodging near the places that matter most to them.
The Venue Selection Label field allows you to customize how this option appears on the guest booking site. For example, instead of calling the field “Select a Venue,” you can rename it to something that better fits your event. If you’re hosting a large sports tournament, you could label the field “Age Division” and then apply Venue Tags like “U10,” “U12,” or “U14” to represent different divisions playing at different locations. This way, guests can simply pick their division and instantly see hotels near where their games will be played.
Venue Tags also help make venues more recognizable. While your organization may know a venue by its formal or internal name, that name may not always be the one guests recognize. Tags let you apply alternate, guest-friendly names so the selection process feels intuitive. For example, you could tag “XYZ Convention Center” with “Downtown Expo Hall” to make it more familiar to attendees.
All of these settings — Venue Selection, Venue Selection Label, and Venue Tags — can be found under the Venue tab of your event.
Together, these tools improve clarity, reduce confusion, and create a smoother booking journey for your guests.
