This feature allows your team an entirely new tool to flexibly book inventory from private room blocks.
Feature Benefits
This feature will give you the ability to take further advantage of private room blocks by allowing booking to be done directly from this protected inventory. Your team will be able to:

Book individual reservations directly from private room blocks.

Create group blocks from private room blocks, and allow your guests to
book private inventory for themselves directly in those group blocks.
- Create reservations from the upload tool directly from the inventory of private room blocks. This includes reservations in a group block composed of inventory from public room blocks.
Use Case Highlights
There is really no limit to the use cases your team might find for booking inventory from a private room block, but some of the most common may include:
- Booking discounted rooms for staff or VIP guests on their behalf so that the inventory is not made available to the general public.
- Creating a group block out of protected inventory that can be shared with a group of guests so that they can book their own accommodations at a convenient time.
- Setting inventory aside until a group of guests are able to provide their information so that your team can create reservations en masse from the upload tool on their behalf.
Primary Workflows
To engage with any of the use cases listed above, you will need to take just a few simple steps:
1. Ensure that you have inventory in private room blocks. If you haven’t previously engaged with this, you can create these blocks from your hotel’s Room Block tab.
It’s important to note, private room block inventory will not show on the public booking site that is available to the general public.
2. From the overflow menu of your event, a new option will appear, Private Booking Site. By selecting this you will be taken to a booking site that specifically uses only inventory from private room blocks. This version of the booking site is only available to members of your team, so you can rest assured that this inventory will not be consumed by the guests of your events accidentally
3. From the private booking site you can book an individual reservation, or create a group block. If you are creating a group block on behalf of guests, you can input their email addresses in the checkout workflow so that the system will automatically send them a link to the group block for them to begin booking.
Individual reservations and group blocks created from private room blocks will appear in the Reservations and Groups tab alongside all other reservations/group blocks for your team to access and manage. Both the Reservations and Groups tabs can be filtered to the Private type for your team to find them efficiently if need be.
Just like with public and comp reservations, private reservations can be created from the uploader tool. Private room blocks can be selected from the Room Type dropdown. As an additional benefit, we have added the room block’s unique ID to the name within the dropdown so you can be sure the room block you’re selecting is exactly the one you want to use for creating your reservations. To verify a room block’s ID, you can see this from an info icon on the room block itself.
