If I update an event level setting, will it trickle down to existing event hotels?

Hotel Settings Sync

When editing an event level field that is used at the event hotel level, such as a secondary fee, you will be taken to the new Hotel Settings Sync page, where you can decide if you want that change to be made at just the event level, or for all your existing event hotels.

For example, if you were to update the settings related to your event pickup reports, secondary fees, and waitlists at the event level, you would be taken to the Hotel Settings Sync page with the setting groups related to those settings preselected.

From here, you can decide whether these setting groups should be updated for your event hotels, or if these changes should only be made at the event level.

Please note:

  • If you update event settings that aren’t used by event hotels, you will not be taken to the Hotel Settings Sync page automatically.
  • If you do not have any event hotels yet, you will not be taken to the Hotel Settings Sync page when editing event level settings.

Syncing Settings Without Editing The Event

If you would like to sync your current event settings to your event hotels without making any changes at the event level, you can still access the Hotel Settings Sync page. In this situation, you can click a new dropdown on the edit event page that will take you directly to the Hotel Settings Sync page. In this case, none of the settings groups will be preselected, but you can select whichever you’d like to.

Please note:

  • If you go directly to this page, any event settings changes you’ve made won’t be saved, so if you want to save those first, simply click Update Event and then go to the Hotel Settings Sync page. A pop up modal will warn of this before you go to the Hotel Settings Sync page directly.
  • If you do not have any event hotels yet, this option to go directly to the Hotel Settings Sync page will not be present as there are no event hotels to sync.

Syncing Hotel Waitlist Settings

If you are enabled to use the waitlist setting, and you sync your waitlist settings, it should be noted that the waitlist maximum will be updated at the event hotel level, and for your room blocks. Setting your waitlist maximum to 0 is a very efficient way to make it so that no new guests can add themselves to the waitlist for any room blocks.
